Necco Books

Recently, we had the opportunity to connect with a fantastic author and fellow candy collector--Darlene Lacey. Some of you may know her website The Candy Wrapper Museum. We stumbled upon her by chance as she and her husband Joe were in the process of authoring a book on the history of the New England Confectionery Company (Necco). We reached out to them to see if they needed any items from our collection for their book.

We sent them a few "not-so-professional" photographs and they said they were interested! Of course, finding all the Necco pieces we have in our collection proved to be a bit challenging, but we got to work! Under the awesome direction from Joe on how the items should be photographed, we sent them dozens of photos!

A few months later we got word that the books Necco-An Epic Candy Tale and Necco-The Archive Collection were published! When we got them, we were absolutely amazed on how well Darlene painted a picture on the history of Necco (she truly is a master storyteller!) and the way Joe organized and displayed the photographs...it was feast for the eyes!

So, if you are interested in a good read be sure to check out both books! We truly believe that these two publications are the best candy/confectionery history books out there!
